For the first 10 months of the year, gaming taxes made up 83.7 per cent of total government revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Macau.- From January 2025 to October 2025<\/strong>, the Macau gaming industry contributed MOP77.47bn<\/strong> (US$9.68bn) in tax revenue \u2013 a 6.1 per cent increase<\/strong> from the same period last year. In the 10-month period, gaming taxes made up 83.7 per cent<\/strong> of total government revenue, according to data released by the Financial Services Bureau<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gaming tax collection for October 2025 reached MOP7.06bn <\/strong>(US$882.3m), based on September’s GGR of MOP18.29bn<\/strong> (US$2.2bn), which was up 6 per cent <\/strong>compared to the year prior. With October GGR reaching MOP24.09bn<\/strong> (US$3bn), the highest monthly total since 2019, tax revenue for November is expected to also be strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Macau imposes an effective tax rate of 40 per cent<\/strong> on casino GGR as stipulated in the current 10-year gaming concession<\/strong>s which began on January 1, 2023<\/strong>. Monthly figures are not directly comparable, due to the delay between operators’ recording of GGR and the government’s receipt of tax payments.<\/p>\n\n\n
