The inquiry\u2019s recommendations included major restrictions on gambling promotions<\/a>, but the government has yet to decide on a definitive stance or provide a timeline for implementation. While harm-reduction advocates<\/strong> continue to push for a complete ban on gambling advertising<\/strong>, the industry urges a \u201cproportionate and evidence-based\u201d<\/strong> approach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proposals that have been discussed include a cap of three gambling ads per hour<\/strong> and shorter blackout periods<\/strong> before and after live sporting events.
