With the government\u2019s Reorganisation of Gambling decree now in motion, the company noted that the industry is preparing for &#8220;its most significant regulatory shift in nearly a decade.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Altenar, the new framework raises the bar for entry: a \u20ac7m licence with a nine-year duration; taxation at 24.5 per cent GGR for betting and 25.5 per cent GGR for casino; a 3 per cent NGR annual fee; and a 0.2 per cent GGR responsible gambling contribution, capped at \u20ac1m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company added that &#8220;so far, only 46 operators have advanced to the second stage of the licensing process \u2014 less than half of the previous 93. Those who remain face tighter compliance deadlines and new obligations before the new regime begins in March 2026.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But there\u2019s good news. Longer concessions and fewer competitors mean stability, growth potential, and a clearer path to long-term success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/altenar-strengthens-sportsbook-product-leadership-with-two-senior-hires\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/altenar-strengthens-sportsbook-product-leadership-with-two-senior-hires\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Altenar<\/a> said: \u201cWe expect a more consolidated and transparent market, committed to long-term investment, innovation, and responsible gaming practices. In recent months, we\u2019ve already witnessed major international groups making strategic acquisitions in Italy, which has further reduced the number of active operators. This consolidation has resulted in a significant portion of the market being absorbed by large-scale entities, leaving less room for smaller operators.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the company&#8217;s expert, <strong>upcoming changes will reshape operations:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The multi-brand model will be phased out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Operators will focus on a single, stronger brand identity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mobile-first design, AI-driven personalisation, and responsible gaming tools will drive engagement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The company added: \u201cFeatures such as Bet Builders, cashout, and real-time player markets \u2014 especially in football and basketball \u2014 will continue to gain popularity.
