Indonesia.- The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs says it removed more than 2.3m gambling-related posts from the internet over the past year. That makes gambling the biggest cause for removal among the 3m pieces of digital content removed ovall between October 2024 and October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Alexander Sabar<\/strong>, director general of Digital Space Supervision, gambling content continues to outpace categories such as pornography, which accounted for around 612,000 items, including over 8,500 involving child pornography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOnline gambling has a wide spectrum, from upstream to downstream,\u201d Sabar said. \u201cOur focus is to prevent such content from being accessed by the public.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabar noted the complexity and said the ministry is collaborating with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK), the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and law enforcement agencies. \u201cA secure digital space requires collective responsibility and a swift response to emerging threats,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n
