Despite this overall decline, gambling-related crimes increased by nearly 134 per cent to<strong> 760<\/strong>, mainly due to the new ban on unlicensed money exchange for gambling under the Law to Combat Crimes of Illegal Gambling enacted in <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/gaming-regulation-in-macau-legislative-assembly-approves-gambling-crimes-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">late October 2024<\/a>. This accounted for 410 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Public Prosecutions Office closed 15,204 cases during the year, an increase of 10.7 per cent. Of that total, 3,766 led to prosecutions, while 11,113 were archived.
