Macau.- The Financial Services Bureau<\/strong> has reported that Macau collected MOP70.4bn (US$8.78bn)<\/strong> in casino taxes in the first nine months of the year. The figure was up 6 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For September, gaming tax revenue reached MOP8.53bn (US$1.06bn). The\u00a0Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ)\u00a0reported that Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the month was MOP18.3bn (US$2.27bn)<\/a>. That\u2019s an increase of 6 per cent in year-on-year terms, but 17.5 per cent behind August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the 10-year concessions that came into effect on January 1, 2023, casinos pay 40 per cent on GGR. The government\u2019s original 2025 budget plan forecast full-year gaming tax revenue of MOP93.12bn (US$11.52bn). This was revised down in the 2025 fiscal budget amendment bill<\/a> to MOP79.8bn (US$9.87bn), reflecting a revision of the gaming revenue forecast from MOP240bn ($29.69bn) to MOP228bn ($28.2bn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cumulatively, Macau\u2019s GGR for the first nine months of 2025 was MOP181.3bn (US$22.5bn)<\/strong>, up 7.1 per cent year-on-year. The figure was 17.7 per cent below pre-pandemic levels (MOP220.2bn \/ US$27.4bn).
