Singapore.- The Singapore\u2019s Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA)<\/strong> has reported that the number of citizens and permanent residents who visited casinos in 2024 totalled 94,000. That’s a decrease of 5.3 per cent year-over-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the 2024-25 annual report, the number of visitors to casinos in 2024 represented 2.8 per cent of the city-state\u2019s adult population. The number of annual casino entry levies purchased by residents was 6,700, down 5.6 per cent from 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n

The study added that problem gambling rates among local residents had remained \u201clow and stable\u201d at 1.1 per cent, referring to data from the 2023 gambling participation survey conducted by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GRA\u2019s chairman, Tan Tee How<\/strong>, said: \u201cThis is a strong testament to the collective efforts of GRA, the Ministry of Social and Family Development, and the NCPG in mitigating gambling harms.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) recently reported that the country received 3.29 million visitors in July and August<\/a>. That\u2019s a 4.7 per cent rise in year-on-year terms. In July, there were 1.68 million visitors, the highest number of arrivals this year. In August, there were 1.61 million, according to the STB data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were 2.5 million overnight visitors over the two months. That\u2019s a 2 per cent rise compared to the same period last year. The average stay was 3.55 days, a decrease of 3.5 per cent in year-on-year terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
