The Public Security Police Force expects 1.2 million visitors during the eight-day holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- The Public Security Police Force (CPSP)<\/strong> has reported that Macau received almost 304,000 visitor arrivals during the first two days of the October Golden Week<\/strong>, which runs from October 1 to 8. The police expect 1.2 million visitors<\/a> during the 8-day holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to preliminary data cited by The Macao News, 139,854 visitors arrived on Wednesday (October 1) and 163,932 on Thursday, taking the aggregate for the first two days of the holiday period to 303,786.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the aggregate total, 142,568 entered via the Border Gate checkpoint, 60,989 via the Hengqin checkpoint and 42,449 via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. PSP spokesman Lam Keong<\/strong> said the peak travel period<\/strong> is expected on October 3 and 4. He projected roughly 150,000 travellers per day. <\/p>\n\n\n

The forecast surpasses 2024\u2019s daily average of around 140,000 visitor arrivals due to various factors, including the longer holiday period<\/a> this year, as National Day coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival, creating an eight-day break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this week, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes<\/strong>, the director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), anticipated the hotel occupancy rate in Macau during the holiday season would exceed 90 per cent<\/strong>. The city currently has about 47,000 hotel rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first eight months of 2025<\/strong>, 26,895,940 visitor arrivals were recorded, up by 15 per cent year-on-year; same-day visitors (15,716,961) and overnight visitors (11,178,979) grew by 25.5 per cent and 2.9 per cent respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n
