Entain Australia and New Zealand will focus on its core wagering business and long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

New Zealand.- Entain Australia & New Zealand<\/strong> has announced that it will close its TAB Racing Club<\/strong> in New Zealand after only a year. Around 18,000 New Zealand TAB customers joined the experience-based club, but the company said the business case \u201cno longer stacks up,\u201d requiring around NZ$2.5m annually<\/strong> to operate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entain said it will honour all existing Racing Club experiences through to the end of New Zealand Cup Week in Christchurch in November. The company has commenced a process to sell the club\u2019s horses. The process involves independent appraisal of animal welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew Vouris<\/strong>, CEO of Entain ANZ, said: \u201cThis is a disciplined, responsible decision that allows us to get back to basics \u2013 selling bets and delivering strong returns<\/a> to the New Zealand racing industry. We are focused on our core business<\/strong> of responsibly selling bets and creating innovative products, while ensuring the horses are well cared for with their new owners, and our customers enjoy the experiences they\u2019ve already secured.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
