India.- The Raigad Cyber Police have arrested a man from Rajasthan and are pursuing five others in relation to an alleged online gaming and betting operation. Police froze 44 bank accounts holding INR19.4m (US$232,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation began after a complaint on September 9 by someone who lost INR10,000 (US$120) on the AM999 gaming app. \u201cThese apps seemed legitimate, hosted on mainstream platforms, but paid nothing,\u201d Jadhav told police, citing four months of aggressive SMS and mobile ads targeting him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrested suspect, Bharmal Meena, 38, from Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, ran a mobile phone shop. Police said they are tracing international fund flows and probing banks for failing to flag suspicious activity. She urged citizens to avoid unverified gaming apps and report dubious ads to the helpline 112.<\/p>\n\n\n
