Telangana police carried out raids in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Punjab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

India.- The Telangana Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has conducted raids in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Punjab and arrested eight people allegedly linked to illegal online betting platforms. The raids, carried out on Monday and Tuesday by six CID teams, reportedly targeted apps such as Taj0077, Fairply.live, Andhra365, Vlbook, Telugu365, and Yes365.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s the first time Telangana Police have conducted out-of-state raids related to gambling. The operation resulted in the seizure of hardware, which is being analysed in a bid to trace money flows. Early findings suggest the masterminds may be operating from abroad, supported by local handlers in India, reports say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a first-of-its-kind operation aimed at dismantling a larger syndicate behind these illegal betting apps,\u201d said Charu Sinha, additional director general of police, CID. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has made curbing online betting a priority, announcing in March the creation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to address the issue. Criticising the previous BRS government for failing to enforce the 2017 online gambling ban, Reddy indicated that current laws, which impose a maximum two-year sentence, may be amended to introduce stricter penalties for organisers and participants to deter future violations.<\/p>\n\n\n
