According to local media outlet Lao Dong, the Grand Ho Tram resort in Ba Ria-Vung Tau and the new <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sun-group-selected-as-the-official-investor-for-us2bn-casino-project-in-van-don-vietnam\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sun-group-selected-as-the-official-investor-for-us2bn-casino-project-in-van-don-vietnam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">development in Van Don<\/a>, may gain permission to allow Vietnamese nationals to access their casinos, under a proposal drafted by the Ministry of Finance. Currently, there is only one casino in Vietnam where the country&#8217;s own citizens can gambling, on <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/vietnam-ministry-of-finance-to-study-ways-of-extending-casino-access-for-locals-in-phu-quoc\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/vietnam-ministry-of-finance-to-study-ways-of-extending-casino-access-for-locals-in-phu-quoc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Phu Quoc Island<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Lao Dong, the draft resolution states that Vietnamese people who meet financial requirements will be allowed to play in casinos in Van Don and Ho Tram on a pilot basis for a period of five years from the date of operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/vietnam-proposes-casino-entry-fee-for-locals\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/vietnam-proposes-casino-entry-fee-for-locals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">draft decree<\/a> on casino operations, Vietnamese citizens would be required to pay VND2.5m (US$100) for each 24-hour period of casino access or VND50m (US$2,000) per month. The suggested daily cost is 2.5 times higher than the current rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other key restrictions from the existing pilot would remain in effect. Vietnamese citizens must be at least 21 years old and not be on a self-imposed or family-initiated exclusion list to be eligible for entry. Casino operators would be required to install 24\/7 camera surveillance systems covering all key areas, with footage stored for a minimum of 180 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/vietnams-grand-ho-tram-breaks-ground-on-new-us1bn-development\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grand Ho Tram<\/a> is currently a foreign-only resort located southeast of Ho Chi Minh City.
