South Korea.- Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) is marking its 20th anniversary and has taken the moment to highlight some stats. It says its Seven Luck casinos have recorded approximately 22 million visits by international tourists since September 2005 and that GKL has contributed around KRW740bn (US$531.3m) to the government\u2019s Tourism Promotion and Development Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company hosted a ceremony at its Seven Luck Gangnam COEX branch attended by around 150 staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GKL operates three foreigner-only casinos under the Seven Luck brand: two in the capital, Seoul, including one in Gangnam, and the other in the southeastern port city of Busan. It operates as a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For August<\/a>, it reported casino sales of KRW35.08bn (US$25.2m), down 10 per cent in year-on-year terms and 10 per cent behind July. Table-game revenue was KRW31.18bn (US$22.4m), 18.2 per cent behind August 2024\u2019s figures and also down 11.8 per cent compared to July 2025. Machine game sales were KRW3.90bn (US$2.79m), up 22.8 per cent year-on-year, but 7 per cent down compared to the previous month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
