The club was the first organisation in Asia to receive WLA’s Level 4 accreditation in 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Hong Kong.- The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has again received Level 4 accreditation under the Responsible Gaming Framework of the World Lottery Association (WLA). It’s the fifth time it has received highest level of accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HKJC was the first organisation in Asia to receive Level 4 accreditation in 2011, and was recertified in 2015, 2018, 2021. That makes it the first operator in Asia to receive the distinction five times in succession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club stressed that responsible gambling is an essential component of its business model through which racing and responsible sports wagering generate substantial tax contributions, charity support and employment opportunities for Hong Kong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to receive WLA\u2019s Level 4 accreditation, operators must incorporate pledges and actions in ten areas, use them in their daily operations and show ongoing evaluation and improvement initiatives. The framework components include: research; employee programmes; retailer programmes; game design; remote gaming channels; advertising and marketing communications; player education; treatment referral; stakeholder engagement, and; reporting and measurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the most recent recertification process, the WLA\u2019s independent assessment panel commended HKJC for the quality, scope and strategic alignment demonstrated throughout its submission. It particularly commended the club\u2019s internal responsible gambling governance and improvement mechanisms, including the establishment of a Responsible Gambling Committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club was also recognised for its \u201csustained efforts to prevent gambling-related harm among underage and young individuals covering a wide range of age groups.\u201d Additionally, the panel acknowledged HKJC\u2019s contributions<\/a> to collaborative research on responsible gambling practices and its strong commitment to enhancing employee policies and codes of conduct, both of which surpassed Level 4 accreditation standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
