India’s most populous state wants a unified national approach to online games involving real money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

India.- Uttar Pradesh, India’s largest state by population, is backing calls for a nationwide policy on online gaming apps. Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak has said that the state assembly will consider a resolution in its upcoming session to urge central government to develop a nationwide law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Surajya Abhiyan movement has been pushing for sucha a move States including Assam, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, have introduced measures on online gaming but varying approaches have led to calls for a national standard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

India’s constitution, under Article 252, allows parliament to legislate on state matters if at least two states request it. The group is engaging with additional states to strengthen this collaborative effort.<\/p>\n\n\n
