Seaport Research Partners expects Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue to be 14.8 per cent higher year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Analysts at Seaport Research Partners<\/strong> have forecast that Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR) will rise 14.8 per cent year-on-year in August. It forecast a 2.5 per cent increase month-on-month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Analyst Vitaly Umansky<\/strong> noted that August has more concerts and events than last year, as was also the case in June and July. \u201cVisitation growth<\/a> remains robust and spend per visitor is improving, so August growth could come in better than we currently forecast,\u201d he wrote, predicting \u201ca stronger base mass recovery with continued premium growth later this year and in 2026\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seaport Research Partners has lifted its 2025 GGR growth forecast<\/a> for the Macau market to 9 per cent from 7 per cent. \u201cThe growth should be driven by increased marketing and improving China consumer sentiment, coupled with stronger higher quality average visitation into Macau,\u201d Umansky said, noting that a trade deal between the US and China could further boost consumer confidence and willingness to travel to Macau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reported that Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR) was\u00a0MOP22.13bn (US$2.73bn)\u00a0in July<\/a>. That\u2019s an increase of 19 per cent in year-on-year terms and a 5 per cent rise compared to\u00a0June\u2019s MOP21.06bn (US$2.60bn). It was the best monthly performance since January 2020, just before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
