Gross gaming revenue amounted to MOP22.13bn (US$2.73bn) in the seventh month of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has reported that Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR) was MOP22.13bn (US$2.73bn)<\/strong> in July. That\u2019s an increase of 19 per cent in year-on-year terms and a 5 per cent rise compared to June\u2019s MOP21.06bn (US$2.60bn)<\/a>. It was the best monthly performance since January 2020, just before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cumulatively, Macau\u2019s GGR for the first seven months of 2025 was MOP140.8bn (US$17.4bn), up 6.46 per cent year-on-year. The figure was 19 per cent below pre-pandemic levels (MOP173.95bn \/ US$21.5bn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, the Legislative Assembly<\/strong>\u00a0passed the\u00a02025 fiscal budget<\/a>\u00a0amendment bill, which estimates gaming tax revenue of\u00a0MOP79.8bn (US$9.87bn)<\/strong>, 5 per cent lower than previously expected. The government cut its GGR estimate from MOP240bn ($29.69bn) to MOP228bn ($28.2bn). At the time of the revised forecast,\u00a0Ho In Mui<\/strong>, deputy director of the Financial Services Bureau, cited global economic conditions and changes in tourist consumption patterns as factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
