The new identity-based system aims to promote safer gambling through real-time monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

New Zealand.- SkyCity Entertainment Group has completed the rollout of its mandatory carded play system<\/strong> across all of its New Zealand casino properties. The initiative, which began earlier this month in Queenstown and Hamilton, was completed this week in Auckland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the new system, all customers must use a SHOW by SkyCity card<\/strong> linked to verified photo identification to access gaming machines or tables. While players can still use cash, Quick Pay, or TITO<\/strong> (ticket-in, ticket-out) options, the card is needed to begin any form of gambling activity at SkyCity venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SkyCity Chief Operating Officer Callum Mallett<\/strong> said: “Carded Play gives us the tools to better support our customers. We can make earlier interventions where needed and ensure gaming remains a safe and enjoyable experience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to player protection, the card integrates access to the company\u2019s loyalty programme. Plans are also underway to implement carded play at SkyCity Adelaide in Australia by 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is about recognising that all players are different and tailoring safeguards accordingly,\u201d Mallett added. \u201cOur previous model supported safe play within an anonymous system, but Carded Play takes that to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
