Suspicious transaction reports related to gaming accounted for 73.8 per cent of all 2,515 reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- The Financial Intelligence Office (FIO)<\/strong> has reported that casino operators filed 1,856 Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs)<\/strong> in the first half of 2025, a decrease of 14.9 per cent year-on-year<\/strong>. Gaming accounted for 73.8 per cent of all STRs. The figure compares with 2,181 STRs reports in the same period of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suspicious transaction reports across all sectors totalled 2,515 in the reported period, down 12.6 per cent from 2,879 in the first half of 2024. Financial institutions<\/strong> and insurance companies submitted 500 reports, representing 19.9 per cent of the total. Other institutions<\/strong> filed 159 reports, representing 6.3 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gaming sector\u2019s share of STRs decreased slightly from 75.8 per cent in the first half of 2024 to 73.8 per cent in 2025. Meanwhile, reports from financial institutions and insurance companies increased marginally from 19.3 per cent to 19.9 per cent year-over-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January, the Financial Intelligence Office (FIO) reported that casino operators filed 3,837 Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) <\/strong>in full-year 2024<\/a>, an increase of 11.8 per cent<\/strong> year-on-year. Gaming accounted for 73.2 per cent of all STRs. <\/p>\n\n\n
