Vietnam.- Deputy prime minister Le Thanh Long<\/strong> has instructed the Ministry of Finance<\/strong> to study development policies for Phu Quoc<\/strong> island inluding the possibility of allowing Vietnamese nationals to continue accessing casinos beyond the current pilot phase<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to VietnamNet, a recent report outlines a range of tasks for ministries and agencies aimed at boosting infrastructure investment<\/strong> and regional development in the Mekong Delta. The Ministry of Home Affairs has been instructed to coordinate with relevant agencies to propose a framework defining the functions, duties, and organisational structure of a special administrative unit for Phu Quoc under An Giang province<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Finance will study two proposals: formulating and enacting policies for the development of Phu Quoc, and extending the right for Vietnamese citizens to gamble<\/strong> at casinos located after Vietnam’s only pilot of casino gaming for locals concludes.
