The government collected US$5.6bn from casino operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- The Financial Services Bureau has reported that Macau collected MOP45.26bn (US$5.6bn) in casino taxes in the first half of the year. The figure was 1 per cent up year-on-year. For June, MOP8.16bn (US$1bn) was collected, up 12 per cent compared to May<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government\u2019s original 2025 budget plan forecast gaming tax revenue of MOP93.12bn (US$11.52bn). This has since been revised down in the 2025 fiscal budget amendment bill<\/a> to MOP79.8bn (US$9.87bn), reflecting a revision of the gaming revenue forecast from MOP240bn ($29.69bn) to MOP228bn ($28.2bn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the 10-year concessions that came into effect on January 1, 2023, casinos pay 40 per cent on GGR. Tax revenue figures cannot be directly compared because there is usually a delay between when GGR is documented and when the government recognises the tax as being paid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has reported that Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR) was MOP21.06bn (US$2.60bn) in June. Cumulatively, Macau\u2019s GGR for the first six months of 2025 was MOP118.77bn (US$14.69bn)<\/a>, up 4.4 per cent year-on-year. However, the figure remains 20.5 per cent below pre-pandemic levels (MOP149.50bn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
