Australia.- The New South Wales regulator, Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW) has announced that it will undertake a compliance campaign focusing on the rules about gambling signs<\/a>. The inspections will start on July 7, and the regulator said it will take enforcement action against any venue found not to be complying with requirements to remove of all external gambling signage and imagery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These requirements are in place to continue supporting gambling harm minimisation by reducing the visibility and promotion of gambling, particularly to vulnerable individuals and the broader community,” L&GNSW said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulator recently fined the licensee of Markets Hotel in Homebush West<\/a>, AU$28,400 (US$17,952) for operating gaming machines outside of authorised hours. According to the regulator, the venue allowed patrons to play gaming machines outside approved hours over three consecutive weekends in July 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n
