New Zealand.- Lotto NZ is proposing changes to its Powerball game. It wants to increase the number of balls in the draw, a change that could significantly affect the odds of winning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, odds are one in 38 million. The addition of more numbers could change them to one in 46 million or one in 57.5 million, depending on the final decision. Lotto NZ said the proposal is part of a five-year strategy that’s intended to keep the game appealing and financially sustainable. The last adjustment to the Powerball format was in 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday (June 30), a bill to regulate online casino gambling<\/a> was introduced in New Zealand. Minister of internal affairs Brooke van Velden waid the proposed legislation would \u201cprioritise harm minimisation, consumer protection and tax collection.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cabinet has already agreed to in regulate online casino gambling in New Zealand, and the Department of Internal Affairs has invited operators interested in an igaming licence to register on its website. The government plans to introduce the regulated market in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n
