United Arab Emirates.- The UAE Lottery, operated by The Game, has announced its acceptance as a member of the World Lottery Association (WLA). It said the move marks a step forward in its international positioning and reinforces its dedication to global standards of integrity, responsible gaming and corporate responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WLA membership enables collaboration with more than 150 government-authorised lotteries and over 70 associated suppliers worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) launched its first national lottery \u2013 and the first form of legal gambling \u2013in November 2024. The Game received a lottery licence<\/a> from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in July, and Smartplay International received a vendor licence in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bishop Woosley, director of lottery operations at The Game, said: \u201cBecoming a WLA member is a proud milestone for The UAE Lottery, which is committed to operational excellence, innovation in player experience, and advancing the regional regulated gaming sector. We are focused on delivering a world-class lottery experience within the Gulf region, while remaining aligned with the values the WLA upholds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Mullally, CEO of the GCGRA, added: \u201cAs the internationally recognized body representing the interests of state-authorized lotteries and state-licensed sports betting operators, the WLA is dedicated to advancing integrity, security, and responsible gaming practices across the global regulated lottery and sports betting sector. The UAE Lottery\u2019s acceptance as a member highlights the effectiveness of our efforts to facilitate the development of a commercial regulated gaming sector specifically tailored for the UAE, while positioning the country as a proactive contributor to the WLA\u2019s global collaboration initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
