Memorandum of Agreement signed to enhance surveillance and enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Philippines.- The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) have signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) intended to enhance surveillance, enforcement and intelligence sharing on illegal gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PNP has committed to deploying personnel from its Anti-Cybercrime Group and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to support the GAB\u2019s Anti-Illegal Gambling Unit (GAB-AIGU). These units will conduct surveillance and apprehensions during joint operations targeting illegal gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GAB, as the government\u2019s regulatory body for professional sports, will provide critical intelligence from its field officers and stakeholders to aid in planning and executing operations. Both agencies have established designated secretariats and focal officers for coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PNP chief gen. Nicolas Torre III took part in a ceremony held at the PNP national headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, with GAB chairman Francisco Rivera and commissioner for operations Manuel Plaza. He said: \u201cThis partnership reaffirms our commitment to upholding the integrity of professional sports and protecting public trust in regulated gaming.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) recently launched the \u201cPAGCOR Guarantee<\/a>,\u201d an online platform designed to help users verify the legitimacy of internet-based gaming sites.<\/p>\n\n\n
