Cambodia.- Prime minister Hun Manet has accused other countries of applying double standards when they criticise Cambodia for its online gambling operators. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Extraordinary General Assembly of Cambodia Scouts in Phnom Penh, he said countries that criticise Cambodia often fail to address blackmarket gambling operations in their own jurisdictions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He called on international actors to acknowledge shared responsibility in tackling the issue. \u201cThey try to hide it and blame only Cambodia,\u201d he said. \u201cLook at your own country, it\u2019s not pretty,\u201d he added. “Let\u2019s be honest\u2014people are aware of what is really going on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cambodia banned online gambling in 2019 but complaints about unlicensed operations persist. <\/p>\n\n\n
