South Korea\u2019s only casino open to locals has also launched an awareness campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Korea.- Kangwon Land, the only casino in South Korea accessible to the country’s citizens, has taken action after detecting an illegal online gambling site that fraudulently used its logo and branding to deceive users. It has taken immediate steps to block the site through the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) and has filed a criminal complaint with the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has also launched a nationwide awareness campaign on its website, blog, Instagram and digital billboards, urging the public to avoid falling victim to illegal sites posing as legitimate operators. It stressed that it operates “only at designated physical locations under South Korean law.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year alone, Kangwon Land identified and reported over 3,400 illegal gambling sites to authorities. Two were found to be using its name fraudulently, leading to takedowns by the KCSC and police investigation. Kangwon Land has also partnered with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to develop the country\u2019s first AI-powered monitoring system for identifying illegal online gambling activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acting CEO Choi Chul-gyu said: \u201cKangwon Land will continue to cooperate closely with authorities to protect users from the risks of illegal gambling, and we urge the public to report any suspicious activity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
