Grand Korea Leisure\u2019s casino sales reached KRW30.64bn in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Korea.- Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) <\/strong>has shared its financial results for the month of May. The company posted casino sales of KRW30.64bn (US$22.3m), up 4 per cent in year-on-year terms<\/a> but down 15.3 per cent sequentially<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table-game revenue<\/strong> was KRW27.11bn (US$ 19.73m), up 1.9 per cent year-on-year but down 17.5 per cent sequentially. Machine game sales<\/strong> were KRW3.53bn (US$ 2.57m), up 24.1 per cent year-on-year and up 6.3 per cent compared to the previous month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first five months of the year, casino sales were up 12.5 per cent in year-on-year terms to KRW175.06bn (US$ 127.41m). The casino drop was KRW1.44tn (US$ 1.05bn), down 7.7 per cent when compared to last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GKL operates\u00a0three foreigner-only casinos\u00a0under the Seven Luck brand: Two in the capital, Seoul, including one in Gangnam, and the other in the southeastern port city of Busan.\u00a0The company operates as a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n

In November, the casino operator named\u00a0Yoon Doo Hyun<\/strong> as president. He served in South Korea\u2019s National Assembly during its 21st term from May 2020 to May 2024 and held the role of\u00a0senior secretary for public relations<\/strong>\u00a0at the Office of the President between 2014 and 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n
