The number of available guest rooms dropped by 4.3 per cent to 45,000 while the average length of stay remained at 1.6 nights. The&nbsp;<strong>number of guests at hotels&nbsp;<\/strong>rose by 3.4 per cent year-on-year to 1,199,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Inbound package tour visitors\u00a0<\/strong>totalled 204,000, a 12.1 per cent increase, with those from mainland China growing by 11.8 per cent to 178,000. International tour visitors increased by 4 per cent to 20,000, with those from the Republic of Korea (8,000) up by 10.9 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some 49,000 Macau citizens contracted travel agencies for outbound services, a rise of 10.7 per cent compared to last year. Those travelling on package tours increased by 2.2 per cent to 14,000, with 13,000 of them going to mainland China.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/04\/Visitors-Macau-900x506.jpeg\" alt=\"Photo of people entering Macau.\" class=\"wp-image-777025678\" srcset=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/04\/Visitors-Macau-900x506.jpeg 900w, https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/04\/Visitors-Macau.jpeg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Some 3 million people visited Macau in April.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>There were 147 hotels offering accommodation at the end of April this year, an increase of 4 year-on-year. The occupancy rate for<strong>\u00a05-star hotels\u00a0<\/strong>was 90.9 per cent, up 6.2 percentage points, compared to 82.4 per cent for<strong>\u00a04-star hotels<\/strong>, up 2.8 percentage points and\u00a0<strong>84.4<\/strong> per cent for <strong>3-star hotels<\/strong>, up 3.4 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guests from mainland China totalled 861,000, an increase of 4.5 per cent. International guests increased to 106,000, up 12.3 per cent year-on-year: Republic of Korea 25,000, India 9,000, Thailand, 9,000 and Japan, 7,000, up 3.1 per cent, 64.4 per cent, 28.4 per cent and 5 per cent respectively. Guests from Malaysia, 8,000, and Indonesia, 8,000, fell by 3.1 per cent and 0.1 per cent respectively<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first four months of the year, the average hotel occupancy rate rose by 5.1 percentage points year-on-year to 89.6 per cent. The number of guests decreased by 3.2 per cent to 4,779,000. Some 757,000 inbound package tour visitors were recorded, an increase of 10.2 per cent year-on-year. Tour visitors from mainland China rose by 8.9 per cent year-on-year to 662,000.
