Before that, he was CFO at Perth Airport. He has worked in the tourism, entertainment, aviation, and banking sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wyatt replaces <strong>John Van Der Wielen<\/strong>, who will remain on the board for some months to allow a transition. He will succeed&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/blackstone-appoints-ian-silk-as-new-chairman-of-crown-melbourne\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ian Silk<\/a>&nbsp;from&nbsp;July 1, subject to regulatory approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakula has previously&nbsp;worked as attorney-general, and minister for tourism, sport, and major events in the Victorian&nbsp;government. He currently serves as chair of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakula said: \u201cI am delighted to accept the role of Chair at Crown Melbourne and to play a&nbsp;role in its exciting future. Crown is an iconic business that is a critical part of Victoria\u2019s economy,&nbsp;tourism and entertainment industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Blackstone Group<\/strong>&nbsp;named Silk as chairman of Crown Melbourne in 2022 amid attempts to clean up the image of&nbsp;the casino operator.
