The charges follow a multi-agency investigation led by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) into the alleged illegal activities of an <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/187-people-rescued-from-gaming-operation-in-the-philippines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offshore gaming operator<\/a> in her municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The charges include\u00a026 counts under Section 4(a) and five counts under Section 4(b) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, involving transactions with funds linked to unlawful activity and their subsequent conversion or use. All 31 are facing charges under Section 4(d) for conspiring to commit money laundering offences. It&#8217;s the eighth case against Guo, who is also facing human trafficking charges and filings for <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/philippine-authorities-file-new-charges-against-alice-guo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">falsification of public documents<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DOJ is looking into<strong> four more complaints against Guo<\/strong>, including falsifying documents as a notary public, lying under oath, obstructing justice, breaking the Anti-Dummy Law related to properties in Pangasinan and qualified trafficking and graft involving staff from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). <strong>Guo is set to\u00a0testify on May 28 <\/strong>in the qualified trafficking case pending before Pasig RTC Branch 167.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PAOCC undersecretary <strong>Gilberto DC Cruz<\/strong>, said: &#8220;This landmark case illustrates the government\u2019s resolve to dismantle the financial machinery enabling transnational criminal enterprises. The sheer scale and coordination seen here show how vital it is for our law enforcement and justice system to respond with equal force, precision, and unity.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/philippines-senator-pushes-for-permanent-pogo-ban\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sherwin Gatchalian<\/a>, one of the Senate\u2019s most outspoken critics of offshore gaming operators, said: &#8220;The filing of 62 counts of money laundering cases against Alice Guo boosts our campaign to rid the country of offshore gaming operators and their illegal activities.
