{"id":777026586,"date":"2025-05-19T11:37:29","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T14:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=777026586"},"modified":"2026-04-21T22:51:50","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T01:51:50","slug":"newport-world-resorts-sees-ggr-rise-in-q1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/newport-world-resorts-sees-ggr-rise-in-q1","title":{"rendered":"Newport World Resorts sees GGR rise in Q1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Gross gaming revenue was&nbsp;up 6 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The Philippines.- <strong>Travellers International Hotel Group<\/strong>, the company that operates the <strong>Newport World Resorts<\/strong> casino complex, has shared its financial results for the\u00a0first quarter of the year.\u00a0Gross gaming revenue (GGR) was up 6 per cent <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/newport-world-resorts-ggr-down-16-in-q1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in year-on-year terms<\/a> to PHP7.9bn (US$141.6m). The company attributed the rise to higher win rates in the cash tables and VIP segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Non-gaming revenues from hotels, food, beverage and other operating income was up 4 per cent year-on-year to PHP1.8bn (US$32.26m). The company cited higher occupancy rates benefiting from the recovery in both domestic and international tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Occupancy rates across the five hotels at Newport World Resorts ranged from 85 per cent to 95 per cent, improving from 75 per cent to 90 per cent a year ago. However, occupancy at the hotel in Iloilo declined to 39 per cent, compared to 43 per cent in the first quarter of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company reported<strong>\u00a0net revenue of <\/strong>\u00a0PHP7.69bn (US$137.8m), up 7.84 per cent year-on-year and a segment profit of PHP101.4m (US$1.82m), up nearly 700 per cent. Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was at\u00a0PHP2.1bn (US$37.7m), up 42 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travellers accounted for 14 per cent of parent company Alliance Global Group (AGI)&#8217;s consolidated revenues and income during the quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"356\" src=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/04\/newport-world-resorts-900x356.jpg\" alt=\"Newport World Resorts.\" class=\"wp-image-777025606\" srcset=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/04\/newport-world-resorts-900x356.jpg 900w, https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/04\/newport-world-resorts.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Newport World Resorts.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Kevin L.
