The Australian regulator has blocked the sites for breaches of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Australia.-\u00a0The\u00a0Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA)\u00a0has issued a request for Australian internet service providers (ISPs) to\u00a0block two more gambling websites for violations of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.\u00a0The sites are\u00a0Spirit Casino<\/strong> and AUWin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ACMA blocks sites that offer unlicensed interactive gambling services<\/strong> or publish advertisements for prohibited services. Since its first request in November 2019, it has blocked 1,227 sites. The regulator says over 220 illegal services have been withdrawn from the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It reminded consumers that even if a service looks legitimate, it\u2019s unlikely to have customer protections. People can check if a wagering service is licensed to operate in Australia on ACMA’s register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New South Wales launches new gambling harm resources for veterans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The New South Wales regulator Liquor & Gaming NSW (<\/strong>L&GNSW) <\/strong>has announced the launch of a new set of resources to help raise awareness about gambling harm and provide support tools for veterans. The resources include brochures, posters and fact sheets explaining why veterans might gamble, how to stay in control and where to turn for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resources were developed by the Office of Responsible Gambling in consultation with stakeholders, including the NSW Office of Veterans Affairs, RSL LifeCare, RSL NSW, Open Arms and the Bravery Trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
