Grand Korea Leisure’s casino sales were up 11.5 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Korea.- Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) <\/strong>has shared its financial results for the month of April. The company posted casino sales of KRW36.17 billion (US$25.9m), up 11.5 per cent in year-on-year terms<\/a> but down 12.7 per cent sequentially<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table-game revenue<\/strong> was KRW32.86bn (US$23.5m), up 11.7 per cent year-on-year but down 14.5 per cent sequentially. Machine game sales<\/strong> were KRW3.32bn (US$2.37m), up 10.3 per cent year-on-year and up 10.5 per cent compared to the previous month. The table drop was down 10.2 per cent to KRW286.8bn (US$205m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first four months of the year, casino sales were up 14.5 per cent in year-on-year terms to KRW144.42bn (US$103m). The casino drop was KRW1.11tn (US$808m), down 9.9 per cent when compared to last year.<\/p>\n\n\n

GKL operates three foreigner-only casinos under the Seven Luck brand. Two are situated in the capital, Seoul (including one in Gangnam), and the other in the southeastern port city of Busan. The company operates as a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For full-year 2024, GKL posted casino sales of KRW393.61bn (US$267.94m), down 0.9 per cent from KRW265.16bn (US$207.23m) posted in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November, the casino operator named\u00a0Yoon Doo Hyun<\/strong> as president. He served in South Korea’s National Assembly during its 21st term from May 2020 to May 2024. He held the role of\u00a0senior secretary for public relations<\/strong>\u00a0at the Office of the President between 2014 and 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
