United Arab Emirates.- The\u00a0General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (<\/strong>GCGRA)\u00a0<\/strong>has announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MoU was signed during a visit from a New Jersey economic mission to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It outlines areas of cooperation in both land-based and online gaming, with an emphasis on cybersecurity, consumer protection, and regulatory collaboration. According to a press release from the GCGRA, the MOU will further its position as “a global leader in gaming innovation.”<\/p>\n\n\n

Kevin P. Mullally<\/strong>, CEO of the GCGRA, said: “Commercial gaming is a cornerstone of our vision for diversified economic growth, significantly contributing to tourism and foreign investment. This partnership with New Jersey\u2019s DGE aligns cutting-edge technology with modern regulatory frameworks, unlocking economic potential while prioritising consumer protection and responsible gaming.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe DGE’s leadership in gaming makes it an ideal partner for the GCGRA as we advance our gaming industry,\u201d Mr. Mullally added. \u201cThis MOU will drive technological innovation and regulatory excellence, reinforcing the GCGRA\u2019s position as a premier gaming destination.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Phil Murphy<\/strong>, speaking at the MOU signing, said: “The GCGRA’s ambitious vision for gaming aligns with New Jersey\u2019s role as an international leader in the industry. This collaboration between GCGRA and DGE will drive innovation, strengthen consumer protections, and enhance economic opportunities in both regions.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MaryJo Flaherty<\/strong>, interim director, New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, said: “As a pioneer in gaming regulation, DGE is excited to partner with the GCGRA to share expertise in technological advancements, cybersecurity, and responsible gaming initiatives. We look forward to deepening this partnership to advance global standards.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wesley Mathews<\/strong>, president and CEO of the non-profit organisation Choose New Jersey, added: “The GCGRA and New Jersey are global gaming powerhouses, delivering world-class experiences while driving economic growth. This MOU enhances the GCGRA’s gaming infrastructure and technology ecosystem, positioning both regions as leaders in this dynamic sector.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0GCGRA was established last September.\u00a0In October, the regulator has issued a lottery licence and granted its first casino licence to Wynn Resorts for\u00a0Wynn Al Marjan Island<\/a>\u00a0in Ras Al Khaimah. MGM Resorts has also applied for a casino licence. In April of this year, the regulator issued vendor licences to\u00a0Novomatic\u00a0and\u00a0EQL Games<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
