Mass market casino revenue was up 0.6 per cent in year-on-year terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau<\/strong> has reported that the city’s mass-market casino gambling segment \u2013 including slot machines \u2013 generated revenue of MOP43.20 (US$5.40bn) in the first quarter of the year. That’s a rise of 0.6 per cent year-on-year but down 0.5 per cent sequentially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mass revenue accounted for 74.9 per cent of Macau’s total gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the period. This figure was up 10.9 per cent compared to the same quarter of 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mass-market baccarat generated over MOP34.32bn (US$4.29bn), accounting for more than 59.5 per cent of total GGR. VIP baccarat <\/strong>experienced a 0.5 per cent year-on-year rise, contributing MOP14.46bn (US$1.80bn) and accounting for around 25.1 per cent of GGR. In quarter-on-quarter terms, VIP baccarat was up 3.3 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revenue from slot machines reached MOP3.27bn (US$405m). The figure was up 1.7 per cent year-on-year but down 2.9 per cent sequentially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In March, GGR was MOP19.66bn (US$2.46bn). That\u2019s an increase of 0.8 per cent in year-on-year terms<\/a> but a dip of 0.4 per cent sequentially<\/a>. GGR was 76.1 per cent of March 2019\u2019s level. For the first quarter of 2025, Macau\u2019s GGR was MOP57.66bn (US$7.20bn), up 0.6 per cent from the prior-year period. However, this figure remains 24.7 per cent lower than the first quarter of 2019 (MOP76.15bn).<\/p>\n\n\n
