The Australian regulator has blocked the sites for breaches of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) <\/strong>has issued a request for Australian internet service providers (ISPs) to block four more gambling websites for violations of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The sites are Megabet Prize<\/strong>, Mega Medusa<\/strong>, TF2Royal<\/strong> and Casino Intense<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its first request in November 2019, it has\u00a0blocked 1,210 sites. The regulator says over 220 illegal services have been withdrawn from the market. It reminded consumers that even if a service looks legitimate, it\u2019s unlikely to have customer protections. People can check if a wagering service is licensed to operate in Australia on ACMA’s register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L&GNSW fines the licensee of Markets Hotel over breach of gaming machine laws<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The New South Wales regulator, Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW)<\/strong>, has fined the licensee of Markets Hotel<\/strong> in Homebush West, AU$28,400 (US$17,952) for operating gaming machines outside of authorised hours. According to the regulator, the venue allowed patrons to play gaming machines outside approved hours over three consecutive weekends in July 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L&GNSW<\/a> acting executive director of regulatory operations Bernadette Beard <\/strong>said: \u201cThis venue allowed 29 gaming machines to be operated between 3 am and 6 am on Saturday and Sunday mornings, breaching the shutdown rules. These restrictions are in place to reduce the risks of gambling harm by limiting the time patrons can spend playing gaming machines. Ignoring these laws is not just irresponsible, it\u2019s illegal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
