The casino licence has been renewed for three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Singapore.-\u00a0The Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA)<\/strong> has renewed Marina Bay Sands’ (MBS)<\/strong>\u00a0casino licence for three years from April 26. The regulator said the casino operator had fulfilled requirements under Section 45 of the Casino Control Act<\/a> 2006 (CCA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November, the GRA renewed the casino licence of Resorts World Sentosa (RWS)<\/a> but for only two years. The Evaluation Panel considered that\u00a0RWS\u2019s tourism performance<\/strong>\u00a0for January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023, had been \u201cunsatisfactory, with a number of areas that require rectification and substantial improvement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under Regulation 5 of\u00a0the Casino Control\u00a0(Casino Licence and Fees) Regulations 2009, the GRA has the authority to define a licence duration of under three years. A new evaluation will be carried out in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In March, MBS surpassed 500 million visitors<\/strong> since it opened in 2010. It recorded over 38 million visitors in 2024 and said that over 1.2 million delegates had attended meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) events.<\/p>\n\n\n
