Some 10.01 million people visited Macau from January to April 2, up 11 per cent in year-on-year terms and 95 per cent of 2019 levels, before the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mainland Chinese tourists\u00a0<\/strong>accounted for 7.3 million arrivals. Visitors from Hong Kong reached 1.78 million while international tourists reached 690,000. During the Ching Ming Festival break from April 4 to 6, Macau received 409,000 visitors, a rise of 14.7 per cent in year-on-year terms. Some 301,433. visitors were from mainland China and 71,984 from Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Macau visitor numbers dip in February<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Statistics and Census Service (DSEC)\u00a0<\/strong>reported that 3,147,184 people visited Macau in February. The figure was down 4.4 per cent in year-on-year terms and 13.69 per cent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-visitor-numbers-rise-in-january\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sequentially<\/a>. Same-day visitors (1,887,826) rose by 1.1 per cent year-on-year, while overnight visitors (1,259,358) dropped by 11.7 per cent. The average length of stay remained steady at 1.1 days: 0.3 days for same-day visitors and 2.2 days for overnight visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mainland Chinese tourists&nbsp;<\/strong>accounted for 1,331,09 arrivals. That\u2019s a drop of 6.4 per cent year-on-year. Those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme (1,331,091) declined by 11.1 per cent. Among them, 120,002 visited Macau under the \u201cone trip per week measure\u201d while 30,677 travelled under the \u201cmultiple-entry measure\u201d. Mainland visitors travelling under the \u201ctourist group multi-entry measure\u201d totalled 9,262. Visitors from the nine Pearl River Delta cities in the Greater Bay Area were down by 3.2 per cent year-on-year to 1,122,493.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors from the Taiwan region reached 67,951, up 14.4 per cent year-on-year, while&nbsp;the number of tourists from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (579,843) increased by 4.7 per cent.<strong> International visitor arrivals<\/strong> reached 207,728.
