The Electoral Affairs Commission and the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) have reminded companies and employees to avoid any election-related activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- The Macau Electoral Affairs Commission <\/strong>and the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) <\/strong>held a meeting with casino representatives and gaming promoters to remind them to remain neutral in the Legislative Assembly election<\/strong>. The election is scheduled for September 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, held on Wednesday (April 2), the chairman of the Electoral Affairs Commission, Seng Ioi Man<\/strong>, reminded attendees of the provisions in the Legislative Assembly Election Law and the Electoral Affairs Commission’s guidelines concerning the obligation of neutrality. According to Article 72 of the Legislative Assembly Election Law<\/strong>, casino operators are prohibited from engaging in campaigns or acting in ways that could benefit or disadvantage any candidate list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees are also expected to remain neutral while doing their jobs, including in common areas such as canteens or break rooms. They cannot post or display election-related signs, stickers, or other materials at work.<\/p>\n\n\n

The commission said gaming companies need to clearly communicate this to employees. If employees breach the rules, it is considered a personal act, and companies are responsible for notifying the commission or bureau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commission also reminded concessionaire representatives of their responsibility to facilitate employees’ right to vote on election day. Participants said they would follow all rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
