Grand Korea Leisure posted casino sales of KRW41.45bn (US$28.3m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Korea.-\u00a0Grand Korea Leisure (GKL)\u00a0<\/strong>has shared its financial results for\u00a0the month of\u00a0March. The company posted casino revenue of KRW41.45bn (US$28.3m), up 2.6 per cent\u00a0in year-on-year terms<\/a>\u00a0but down 27.7\u00a0per cent compared to the previous month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table-game revenue<\/strong> was KRW38.45bn (US$26.2m), up 3 per cent year-on-year and 28.2 per cent sequentially. Machine game sales<\/strong> were KRW3bn (US$2m), down 1.9 per cent year-on-year but up 22 per cent compared to the previous month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first three months of the year, casino sales were up 15.6 per cent in year-on-year terms to KRW108.25bn (US$73.9m). The casino drop was KRW826.864bn (US$564.6m), down 9.7 per cent when compared to last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GKL operates three foreigner-only casinos under the Seven Luck brand. Two are situated in the capital, Seoul (including one in Gangnam), and the other in the southeastern port city of Busan. The company operates as a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n

For full-year 2024, GKL posted casino sales of KRW393.61bn (US$267.94m), down 0.9 per cent from KRW265.16bn (US$207.23m) posted in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November, the casino operator named Yoon Doo Hyun<\/strong> as president. He served in South Korea\u2019s National Assembly during its 21st term from May 2020 to May 2024. He held the role of senior secretary for public relations<\/strong> at the Office of the President between 2014 and 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n
