Macau.- The\u00a0Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau\u00a0(DICJ)\u00a0<\/strong>has reported that Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR) in March was\u00a0MOP19.66bn (US$2.46bn). That\u2019s an increase of 0.8 per cent\u00a0in\u00a0year-on-year terms<\/a>\u00a0but a dip of 0.4\u00a0per cent\u00a0sequentially<\/a>. GGR was 76.1 per cent of March 2019’s level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first quarter of 2025, Macau’s GGR was MOP57.66bn (US$7.20bn), up 0.6 per cent from the prior-year period. However, this figure remains 24.7 per cent lower than the first quarter of 2019 (MOP76.15bn). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jefferies now expects GGR for 2025 to reach MOP240bn (US$30bn), down 2 per cent from their previous estimate of MOP245bn. That would be a rise of 5.8 per cent year-on-year, which is in line with\u00a0government estimates<\/a>. Jefferies predicts that Sands China\u2019s market share will rise from 24.1 per cent in 2024 to 25.1 per cent by 2026. Galaxy Entertainment\u2019s share is forecast to rise from 18.8 per cent to 19.3 per cent and SJM Holdings\u2019s to fall by 0.8 percentage points to 12.4 per cent by 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau\u2019s\u00a0GGR for 2024 was MOP226.78bn (US$28.39bn)<\/strong>, up 23.8 per cent\u00a0year-on-year but down 22.45 per cent compared to 2019 levels (MOP292.45bn). The result surpassed the Macau government\u2019s expectations.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t
