The regulator issued a written response to lawmaker <strong>Leong Sun Iok<\/strong>, who had expressed concerns about the safety of new equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DICJ said it has a thorough approval process for new gaming equipment, which includes third-party certifications and training for employees. It added that it conducts<strong> inspections of existing equipment<\/strong> at irregular intervals to make sure gaming is safe and fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February, Sun Iok\u00a0had claimed that casino dealers were <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/casino-dealers-suffer-injuries-from-new-equipment-macau-legislator-claims\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suffering injuries<\/a> due to new equipment that requires intense activity in a short time. According to Macau Business, he said some dealers had reported hand abrasions and tendonitis from the repeated motions needed to operate the equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to data from the Labour Affairs Bureau, occupational accidents in the gaming sector account for nearly 30 per cent of all work-related injuries in Macau. Meanwhile, Citigroup reported that Sands China and Wynn Macau have fully adopted smart technology for their mass baccarat tables following MGM China and Galaxy Entertainment Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">26 gaming machine suppliers approved for 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The DICJ has published its list of approved gaming machine manufacturers and distributors for 2025. Some 26 operators were approved, one more than last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The updated list includes\u00a0<strong>Aristocrat, Light &amp; Wonder<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>IGT<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Konami<\/strong>, and<strong>\u00a0Sega Sammy Creation<\/strong>. Distributors\u00a0<strong>RGB\u00a0<\/strong>and Asia Pioneer Entertainment<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(APE) were also approved to operate.\u00a0<strong>Empire Technological Group<\/strong>, which got its licence from DICJ last May, is on the list again this year.\u00a0<strong>ACP<\/strong>, licensed in December, is also on the list. Meanwhile,\u00a0<strong>FBM<\/strong>, a long-time player in the industry, is not included this year. <strong>SYNOT Group<\/strong>, which was on the list in 2024, is also absent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The approved suppliers and distributors can provide gaming machines to Macau casinos until March 31, 2026 under Administrative Regulation No 26\/2012.
