The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR)<\/strong> has donated a patient transport vehicle (PTV) to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA)<\/strong>. The donation is part of a PHP300m (US$5.04m) pledge to the PNPA announced at the academy\u2019s 45th Alumni Homecoming at Camp Gen. Mariano Casta\u00f1eda in Silang, Cavite a week ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco handed over the PTV to Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) executive director undersecretary Gilbert Cruz<\/strong> who is also chairman of the PNPA Alumni Association (PNPAAAI). The PTV has a GPS navigation system, an ambulance stretcher, medical oxygen, a wheelchair and a first aid kit. It will be assigned to the PNPA Dispensary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tengco said: \u201cThis donation underscores PAGCOR\u2019s dedication to support the law enforcement community by improving facilities that help combat crime and ensure the well-being of personnel and cadets.” <\/p>\n\n\n

PAGCOR opens new socio-civic centre in Bataan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this month, the agency inaugurated a new civic centre in Bataan. The two-story structure was constructed with a PHP50m (US$872.500) grant from PAGCOR and was completed last August. Since then, it has been used as a learning facility for students at Governor Efren B. Pascual Sr. Orani Integrated Central School (GEPS-OICS) to replace makeshift classrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building\u2019s inauguration was led by PAGCOR vice president for corporate social responsibility group Ramon Stephen Villaflor and Orani Mayor Efren Pascual Jr. To date, PAGCOR has completed and inaugurated a total of 47 socio-civic centres in the country while 24 other structures are nearing completion.<\/p>\n\n\n
