The Philippines.- Attorney Stephen David<\/strong> has told media that her client,\u00a0Alice Guo<\/a>,\u00a0the suspended mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, has chosen to run for mayor again. During an interview at the Department of Justice at the start of the preliminary investigation into money laundering charges against Guo and 35 others<\/a>, David said Guo’s decision was to demonstrate her commitment to her constituents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said that the case questioning Guo’s qualifications is still pending in the courts and that the Ombudsman’s decision to disqualify her from public office is also pending. “What is happening is just technicalities. She is barred from running, being disqualified, but that is not yet final. But definitely she will be running for mayor,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He also stated that there have been no court decisions declaring that Guo is not a Filipino.
