That\u2019s an increase of 5 per cent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-up-16-4-year-on-year-in-june\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">month-on-month<\/a> and 11.6 per cent in year-on-year terms. Compared to the same month in 2019, the figure was down by 24 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While July&#8217;s results were strong, they fell short of the record MOP20.19bn (US$2.51bn) recorded in May, which saw the best monthly performance since January 2023, when borders reopened after the Covid-19 pandemic. Cumulatively, Macau\u2019s GGR for the first seven months of 2024 was MOP132.34bn (US$16.44bn), up 36.7 per cent year-on-year but 24 per cent below the same period in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-to-grow-26-in-2024-analysts-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Seaport Research Partners<\/a>\u00a0has forecast that Macau\u2019s GGR will grow by 26 per cent year-on-year in 2024 and by 10 per cent in 2025 while <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/creditsights-expects-macau-ggr-to-reach-us28bn-this-year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CreditSights<\/a>, a division of the Fitch Group, has predicted that Macau\u2019s GGR will reach around US$28bn this year, representing a 24 per cent year-over-year increase and 75-80 per cent of 2019 levels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gross gaming revenue was up 5 per cent when compared to June.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":21526,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Macau's July GGR reached MOP18.59bn (US$2.31bn), marking a 5% month-on-month and 11.6% year-on-year increase, though remaining 24% below 2019 levels.
