The average five-star room rate was MOP1,582.4 (US$196.80), up 12.4 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The figure represents <strong>a 96.1 per cent recovery compared to 2019<\/strong>, before the Covid-19 pandemic, when the city\u2019s five-star hotel rooms cost MOP1,647.4 a night on average. In June, Macau\u2019s five-star hotels had\u00a0an average rate of 91.1 per cent, up 5 percentage points year-on-year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The average occupancy rate across Macau\u2019s three-, four- and five-star hotel segment for the first half was 89.6 per cent, with an average nightly room rate of MOP1,402.8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first half of the year,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-h1-visitor-numbers-reach-16-73m\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the city received 16.73 million visitors<\/a>. The figure was up by 43.6 per cent compared to the same period last year. The data indicates an average of 91,918 visitors per day, about 82.5 per cent of pre-pandemic levels in 2019.&nbsp;International tourist numbers rose by 146.4 per cent year-on-year, with 1.17 million visitors in the first half of the year, representing 67.2 per cent of 2019\u2019s international visitor numbers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau\u2019s chief executive,&nbsp;Ho Iat Seng, has said that Macau could&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-chief-executive-expects-over-30-million-visitors-this-year\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attract more than 30 million tourists<\/a>&nbsp;in 2024.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The average five-star room rate was up 12.4 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":22886,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Macau's five-star hotels achieved 90.8% occupancy and a MOP1,582.4 average room rate in H1, recovering 96.1% of 2019 rates.
