The request was made by <strong>Budi Arie Setiadi<\/strong>, minister of communications and information technology in a letter sent on Friday. He gave NAP providers three days to comply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister asked NAP providers to inform the government of the measures they take as well as the impact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week <strong>Hadi Tjahjanto<\/strong>, Indonesia\u2019s chief security minister, announced the work of the country\u2019s newly created<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/indonesia-to-create-cross-border-gambling-task-force\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0task force to tackle online gambling<\/a>. He said there will be three main lines of action: freezing accounts, cracking down on the buying and selling of accounts, and cracking down on online gambling transactions via top-ups at minimarkets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also last week Indonesia\u2019s financial intelligence agency,<strong> the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK)<\/strong>, announced that it had&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/indonesia-blocks-5000-bank-accounts-tied-to-online-gambling\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blocked approximately 5,000 bank accounts<\/a>&nbsp;linked to online gambling operations.
