The order, issued by the secretary for transport and public works and published in the Government Gazette on Thursday (May 16), reverts <strong>the concession of the 362,000 square-metre plot <\/strong>held by Macau Horse Race Co without compensation to the former horse racing concessionaire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief executive<strong>\u00a0Ho Iat Seng<\/strong>\u00a0has said that the land will be used for a multifunctional venue, ruling out prospects of constructing casino resorts or residential structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-jockey-club-holds-final-horse-races\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The MJC ended its operations on April 1<\/a>\u00a0after more than 40 years\u00a0in operation. The last races\u00a0were held\u00a0before a turnout of approximately 3,000 spectators.
