Australia.-\u00a0The Star Entertainment Group<\/strong>\u00a0has announced that\u00a0Jessica Mellor<\/strong>\u00a0has resigned as chief executive officer of The Star Gold Coast, effective from\u00a0May 24.\u00a0Upon regulatory approval, general manager of gaming Ian Brown will be appointed acting CEO. Mellor\u00a0has agreed to provide support to the company until September 2024. The Star is searching for a permanent candidate.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mellor\u00a0was appointed\u00a0CEO of The Star Gold Coast in October 2023<\/a>. She had served as COO since 2019. The company said that, during her time in the two roles she played a significant role in transforming The Star Gold Coast and in\u00a0the development of\u00a0its AU$2bn masterplan<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Executive\u00a0chair,\u00a0David Foster<\/strong>\u00a0said: \u201cJessica has led The Star Gold Coast through some challenging times\u00a0including\u00a0through COVID and has been instrumental in developing the Gold Coast property into an iconic world-class integrated destination resort with our joint venture partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cJessica has decided the time is right to move on\u00a0and\u00a0she leaves with both the Board\u2019s and my personal\u00a0thanks,\u00a0for her tireless efforts as CEO of The Star Gold Coast.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Earlier this week, the Star Entertainment Group\u00a0reported net revenue of AU$419.2m (US$271.5m) for the third quarter of the financial year 2024.\u00a0Revenue was down 4.6 per cent year-on-year.
